Eggs Sunny Side Up

  • Author: Chef Ava

  • Yield: 2 1x

Description

Enjoy the simple pleasure of perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs! This classic breakfast item is easy to make and pairs well with toast, salads, or on its own. Let’s get started!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (or olive oil)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the Pan:

    • Place a nonstick skillet over low-medium heat and add butter or oil. Let it melt and coat the pan evenly.
  • Crack the Eggs:

    • Gently crack the eggs into the pan, keeping the yolks intact. If needed, crack them into a small bowl first, then pour them into the pan.
  • Cook Slowly:

    • Let the eggs cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until the whites are fully set but the yolks remain runny.
    • If the whites are not setting, cover the pan with a lid for the last 30 seconds to trap steam.
  • Season and Serve:

    • Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
    • Carefully slide the eggs onto a plate and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for the best texture and shape.
  • Low heat is key to prevent crispy or rubbery whites.
  • Serve with toast, avocado, or sautéed veggies for a balanced meal.
